The best of both worlds in one product, combining the properties and performance of wood and aluminium, Gutmann produces the perfect collaboration between functionality and aesthetics, with efficient energy consumption, safety and durability as our main priorities. Engaging in sustainable materials like Aluminium that is 100% recyclable, with a reusable rate unparalleled to any other metal, fused with a natural resource like wood obtained from sustainable forest habitat, that is our answer to beauty in construction without forsaking the environment. Choose from our extensive portfolio of GUTMANN wood-aluminium building systems of windows, doors and facades, to create a green building architecture appropriate for an eco-friendly future. Our systems satisfy thermal insulation criteria up to passive house and with the modular construction, allow for maximum design freedom while maintaining a favourable price performance ratio.
We are continuously striving to enhance our systems and recently introduced a new wood-aluminium unitised façade system that meets the highest technical specifications and is safe, circular and responsibly made. The new façade system that is based on our system GUTMANN EF68 offers high performance values and modular prefabrication, improving quality control and reducing labour costs. A future in which energy costs must be expected continually to rise — with the possibility of energy itself becoming scarce within today's building lifetime — makes it more necessary that our WoodAluminium façade is designed for minimum energy usage while being consistent with meeting environmental needs of lowering the CO² footprint, using both renewable and recycled materials.
There are two types of wood, which can be basically divided into these two generic terms: Softwood and Hardwood.
Softwood (pine, douglas fir, spruce): They are more economical and grow fast, lighter and low in density, which means they are easier to handle, work great as insulators, great paint and oil absorbers, allowing you to get beautiful finishes that appear less grainy and have no visible pores.
Hardwood (oak, maple, teak and mahogany): They are mostly darker in colour, heavier and more expensive, higher resistance to impact, durability and performance, and have prominent grain appearance. Whether you choose softwood or hardwood, you are not limited in colour or finish. Our systems provide the perfect cladding for the wood to protect from the environment and weather conditions.
