The opulence of this villa is emphasised from the moment you walk through the statement pivot entrance door that stands majestic at 4m high. And with that you are met with an architectural feature of double volume space coupled with an abundant use of windows nestled in a façade that stretches more than two storeys high. Gutmann presented the architect with their Lift and slide GLS 180 because it offers the maximum width and height of 3m x 3m needed to capture this high glazing effect in each single leaf. The wide glass panels offer unobstructed views that connect the rooms with the outside while flooding natural light into the space.
Also of note is the security feature presented in the life n slide mechanism, which requires the lifting of the entire weight of the glass before it can be moved, creating obstacles and time consuming restraints for burglars. Additionally, the low threshold offers a seamless pathway into the garden and pool that is hugged by the structure of the house. The U-shaped architecture is a high glazing façade that surrounds the pool and presents a dramatic and modern view. This flow is enhanced with the well-chosen interior décor that’s minimalistic but grand design, creating a contemporary scheme to the building envelopes.
What further compliments the style of this home in its stated elegance is the series of skylights with their ornamented jewels that drop as chandeliers from each one. Gutmann was able to provide all the aluminium profiles to create this façade that houses the skylights. With our extensive portfolio of products, we were able to meet all the architectural requirements for the building envelopes to make this home unique and grand in design.
