This contemporary home presents showstopping building envelopes, whether the floor-to-ceiling pivot entrance door or the automated minimal frame sliding element. Each building system narrates a unique story. “The ultimate goal of an architect is to create a paradise” says Alvar Aalto, well this is true for this piece of Eden. The home owner who is also the architect of her home, envisioned these geometric lines and shapes of contrasting materials to come together in perfect cohesion producing a work of art.
The façade lightings at night highlight architectural attributes of these lines and corners, while in natural day light, it’s a choreograph of dance in shapes and shadows. Her main focus was on capturing light, creating free flowing movement and having a smart home that’s fully automated. We at GUTMANN, worked closely with the architect to ensure that her vision is reflected in the design of the building envelopes, by presenting fully automated modern high glazing sliding elements with minimal frame view and maximum admittance of natural light and customizing the aluminium façade that houses the motorised pop out windows offering a visual contrast against the warm wood panelling.
A walk through the house boasts the high glazing openings of the minimal frame sliding elements and a barrier free threshold throughout the floor plan for comfort and ease of movement. Each window, door and facade emphasised the architect’s modern style and dramatic presentation. GUTMANN is proud to be part of her vision coming true.
