New "Noll Tower" office building in Freiburg's northern industrial quarter catches the eye with spectacular architecture
"In its new, taller form, the Noll Tower has become a landmark in just the right location in the city," explained Freiburg-based architect Lorez Wehle, who was in charge of all architectural planning for the project. And he adds: "One of the key roles of a tower has always been to stand out above the purely functional."
The façade is divided by horizontal bands, which split the daylight for a pleasant atmosphere on the inside as well as making the tower seem taller than its seven storeys. On the western side, facing Lemberg-Allee, the building is also flanked by two slim, 38-metre-high pylons bearing the name of the building.
